Rasmey Kong grew up in New Haven CT, the son of immigrants from Cambodia, and defied a LOT of odds and setbacks to become a star golfer. He won the Connecticut Open in 2019. It is incredibly hard to break through in professional golf, even if you have top talent, and especially if you are not connected or from a wealthy family. For the past year, “Ras” has driven in his family's car with his mother and father from city to city around the country to play in what is called the “Monday qualifier” for that week's minor league golf event. Though the odds of making it into the tournament each week are super low, it's the clearest path to reaching his dream and potential.
