Hi friends,

Joey Pinz Digest: Ocotber 2026 First Edition

The Q4 Discipline Check

I’m asking myself the same thing. Discipline isn’t something we talk about once in January. It shows up in the decisions we make when the excitement wears off, when a conversation gets uncomfortable, and when we have to do the work again tomorrow.

Q4 gives us a chance to look honestly at where we are. What’s working? What keeps getting pushed aside? Is the goal still right for you? If it is, what action can you take this week?

The conversations coming up on the podcast take that question in a lot of directions. We talk about leadership and sales, but also about children, health, resilience, identity, and finding your voice. You don’t have to work in a particular industry to find yourself in one of these stories.

The Final Third of 2026

September begins the final four months of 2026.

That is enough time to make meaningful progress—but not enough time to keep telling ourselves that we will start later.

Look back at the goals you established at the beginning of the year. Some may be progressing well. Others may need to be adjusted, restarted, or replaced because your circumstances have changed.

That is not failure. Discipline is not blindly following a plan that no longer makes sense. Discipline is being honest about where you are, deciding where you want to go, and consistently taking the next necessary step.

What is the one goal that would make you proud if you completed it before the end of 2026?

There is still time—but the time to act is now.

What are you carrying into Q4 that you need to put down?

A new quarter doesn’t erase the pressure we’ve been living with. Anissa Hudak’s conversation about strength becoming survival mode gives you a way to ask readers: What have you been carrying for so long that you’ve stopped noticing its weight? Discipline can include making room to recover.

The conversation you need to have before the year ends.

Is there something you’ve been meaning to say to a colleague, a family member, or yourself? Jerry Fu’s episode on avoiding conflict and Sharalyn Payne’s on leadership make this personal and practical. You could challenge readers to choose one honest conversation and have it before October is over.

Episodes dropping October 7

#946 Sharalyn Payne — ⚖️ Who Pays the Price for Your Leadership?
Leadership affects more than the person making the decisions. Sharalyn’s conversation asks us to consider how our choices land on the people who count on us.

#947 Tania Cazin — 🎯 Why Sales Teams Keep Missing Quota
When a team misses its goal, it’s easy to ask everyone to work harder. Tania’s episode invites a closer look at what may be getting in their way.

#948 Norrine Russell — ❤️ Your Child Isn’t Lazy—Their Brain Works Differently
What changes when we get curious before we judge? This conversation asks us to look more carefully at how children learn and what they may need from us.

#949 Nathan Winston — ⚾ When Quitting Isn’t an Option
We all face moments when the path forward is harder than we expected. Nathan’s story opens a conversation about perseverance and what keeps us going.

#950 Aria Drexler — 🥩 Are Fortified Foods Failing Our Kids?
Aria raises questions about the food we give our children and the assumptions we make about nutrition. It’s a conversation for anyone who wants to understand those choices better.

#951 Monica Roca-Quesada — 💵 Cash Flow Beyond Sales
More sales may sound like the answer to every business problem, but cash flow deserves its own attention. Monica’s episode explores why knowing what comes in is only part of the picture.

Episodes dropping October 14

#952 Jaclyn Leibl-Cote — 🌍 Rebuilding a 108-Year-Old Travel Company
How do you lead change in a company with more than a century of history? Jaclyn’s conversation looks at the work of moving forward while carrying that history with you.

#953 Anissa Hudak — 🛡️ When Strength Becomes Survival Mode
People often tell us to be strong. Anissa’s episode asks what happens when staying strong becomes the only way we know how to live.

#955 Jerry Fu — 🗣️ Why Avoiding Conflict Makes Leadership Harder
The conversation you keep putting off rarely gets easier with time. Jerry explores why addressing conflict is part of caring for the people you lead.

#956 Katrina Purcell — 🔥 Why Great Strategy Dies Without Execution
I love a good idea. But Katrina’s conversation brings us back to the question that matters: what will we actually do to make it happen?

#957 Carolyn Moore — 🤖 When AI Fixes Your Job but Breaks the Company
A tool can make one person’s work faster and still create problems elsewhere. Carolyn asks us to think about the people and the whole organization when we change how work gets done.

#958 Kneet Nauvneet Sachdev — 🎵 How Music Helped Her Find Her Voice Again
Finding your voice can take time, especially when life has given you reasons to hold it back. Kneet’s conversation is about music, expression, and the courage to be heard.

Looking Ahead

Here’s what I’m taking into Q4: pick something that matters, get honest about where you stand, and take the next step. Then do it again.

Which promise to yourself deserves your attention before this year ends?
