Hi friends,

The Mid-Summer Reset

Summer always starts with a plan.

We are going to travel more, spend more time with family, get healthier, finally finish that project, and maybe even slow down a little. Then real life shows up. Calendars fill up, work gets busy, priorities shift, and some of those plans quietly disappear.

Now we are at the halfway point of summer, and this is a good time to check in.

What did you intend to do this summer? What have you actually made time for? What needs to change before the season is over?

This is not about beating yourself up over what did not happen. It is about being honest about where your time and attention have gone—and deciding what you want to do with the time that remains.

Summer is only halfway over, and so is the opportunity to shape what this season becomes. We are not finished products waiting to be discovered. We create who we are through the questions we ask, the systems we build, the pain we face, and the choices we make over and over again.

That idea runs through the conversations in this edition. These guests talk about healing, human behavior, identity, curiosity, career changes, leadership, and building something better. Different stories, but one common thread: growth does not happen by accident. It takes awareness, intention, and discipline.

Supporting Local Non-Profits

One of the commitments I’ve made is to continue using my platform to highlight organizations making a difference in our communities.

In July, we’ll be visiting and supporting A Kid’s Place in Tampa Bay.

Their mission is simple and powerful:

Every child deserves a safe place to call home.

A Kid’s Place provides children in foster care with a chance to heal, remain together with their siblings, and experience the stability, safety, and childhood they deserve.

The work they do changes lives.

We look forward to sharing more about their incredible impact next month.

#888 Michelle Coombs: From Wild West to World-Class Service

Michelle Coombs discusses what it takes to transform disorder, inconsistency, and reactive service into a more structured and dependable customer experience. Her story highlights the systems, leadership, and discipline required to move an organization from improvisation to excellence.

Looking Ahead

As we move into the final stretch of summer, the question is not whether every plan worked out exactly as expected. The question is whether we are willing to adjust, refocus, and make better use of the time still in front of us. The conversations in this edition remind us that growth can come through pain, curiosity, reinvention, stronger systems, and a deeper understanding of ourselves and others. There is still plenty of summer left—and plenty of opportunity to create what comes next.
