Joey Pinz Digest: August 2026 Second Edition | 900th episode

Hi friends,
Five Years, 900 Episodes, and We’re Just Getting Started
The Joey Pinz Conversations podcast officially released its first episode on September 1, 2021—but the journey really began in August.
That was when we started recording, experimenting, learning, and building something without knowing exactly where it would lead. Like most meaningful accomplishments, the work began before the world saw the result.
Five years later, on August 12, 2026, we released our 900th episode.
Nine hundred conversations.
Nine hundred opportunities to listen, learn, laugh, challenge assumptions, and better understand the people behind their accomplishments.
It is a milestone I’m incredibly proud of—but it is also a reminder that the biggest achievements are rarely created by one dramatic moment. They are built by consistently showing up.
What 900 Conversations Have Taught Me
Every guest arrives with a different background, story, mission, and definition of success. Yet after 900 episodes, certain lessons continue to surface.
Success is rarely a straight line. Almost every accomplished person I’ve interviewed has faced rejection, failure, uncertainty, or an unexpected pivot.
Discipline matters more than motivation. Motivation can help us begin, but it is discipline that keeps us moving when the excitement wears off.
Reinvention can happen at any age. There is no expiration date on changing direction, starting something new, improving your health, rebuilding a business, or pursuing a bigger purpose.
The strongest leaders remain curious. They do not pretend to have every answer. They listen, ask better questions, and remain open to learning.
Perhaps the most important lesson is that difficult seasons often create a deeper sense of purpose. The moments we would never choose can become the experiences that shape who we are and how we serve others.
You may have seen claims that 91% of podcasts never make it beyond 10 episodes or that 93% fail to last one year. Those figures are frequently repeated, but I could not find a reliable current study supporting them. The more defensible statistics above still tell the story: starting a podcast is easy; continuing one for five years is not.
But this was never about chasing an episode count.
It was—and still is—about one question:
The People Behind 900 Episodes
August brings another major milestone: the 900th episode of Joey Pinz Discipline Conversations.
Although I may host the conversations, I did not build this podcast alone.
Every guest who trusted me with their story helped shape it. Every listener who watched, downloaded, subscribed, commented, shared an episode, or recommended a guest helped the podcast grow.
My production partners, sponsors, event organizers, friends, colleagues, and family have all played a role in helping us reach this milestone.
Many of our most memorable conversations happened because someone made an introduction, invited us to an event, shared an idea, or simply encouraged us to continue.
To everyone who has been part of these first 900 episodes: thank you.
This milestone belongs to all of us.
